A very dear friend since my school days, we shared adventures abroad, with my uncle. Later,he was my parents-in-law's doctor in Devon. When our daughter was wondering whether to become a doctor, he took her round his practice as a medical student visiting his patients, and as a result she decided to go in for medicine. More recently,with my husband Brian, we have often met , visiting John and Geraldine in their home, receiving them in ours, or meeting for a meal in a restaurant half way between. Rona Smallwood
